French Riviera

9/2/19

Today we got up really early and went to get a rental car and went to Cassis. The drive was two hours to Cassis.  We went to the beach and got ICE CREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The village was called : Village of Cassis.  Then we went to our airbnb and that drive was another two hours. When we got to the airbnb in Cannes (pronounced C-A-N) we went grocery shopping and then went to bed.

Swimming in the Mediterranean in Cassis. There are feet sticking out of the water behind me!
More gelato in Cassis. Hopefully the gelato in Italy will taste just as good!!

Today we got up and went to the beach in Cannes.  The water was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo warm and the water felt soft.  The sea was called the Mediterranean Sea. The difference between a sea and a ocean is that seas are smaller and partially surrounded by land. The oceans are all connected but there are over 50 smaller seas scattered around the world. They both have salt water and seas are not as deep as oceans.  It was different swimming in the water Mediterranean then in the Pacific because the waves are veeeeeeeeery tiny. After that we went to a macaron place it was soooooo good. I got a lemon macaron. Then we went home. We had to go to bed a little early because we were going to Italy tomorrow.

This is where the famous Cannes film festival takes place. Behind me are old american movie posters.
California is not the only place with Legoland!!
This was a great swim day!!! The water here is nice.
This is my bedroom in Cannes. You could pull the balloon string to make the lights go on!!!! Another shower right in the bedroom!!

I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited to go to Italy because my grandma Anni is coming to see us and I can’t wait to eat pizza and gelato.

Gelato was in Rome. You can tell me where you had the best.

Wish I were swimming in the Mediterranean. Looks like soooo much fun.

Give Granni Anni a hug from me ?
What fun she will have with you.
