Bangkok, THAILAND

October 19-30

Today I went on a flight to Bangkok.  It is a cool city!! The buildings are so tall!  Our building was tall too and had so much fun stuff! A pool, a gym, two playgrounds, a basketball court and tennis court!  And a garden! Our apartment was on the 12th floor and there was a pigeon on our balcony that had two eggs in her nest!  While we were there, one of them hatched! It was so cute, a little yellow fuzzball!

Can you see me? I’m behind the teal backpack!!
Here is the pigeon chick right after it hatched. Part of it is still in the eggshell!!
The mom left to get food so here you can see the baby and it’s brother or sister still in the egg.
This is me at the playground on the 9th floor of our building. The King Power Tower is in the background and it is a really cool design, like it is being pulled apart!
We swam almost everyday because it is very hot in Bangkok.
We even swam at night!
This was a Saturday and Thai kids have school!!
Thai kids also all have their own phones!! They are so lucky!!
We went to Unicorn Cafe. Everything is UNICORN!!!!!!!
This is what mom ordered.
And this is what I ordered!!!

There are a lot of critters in Bangkok.  Cockroaches!!! Yuk!! Also, there are squirrels, dogs, cats, and MONITOR LIZARDS!!!  They look like Komodo Dragons! We got to see lots of them at a park. The park had a playground, too.  I also saw three cats and two turtles at that park. One night we went to a cool restaurant called EAT ME and it started storming!  We were outside in a covered area. It was a huge thunderstorm and all of a sudden we saw a huge frog!! HUGE!! My brother said it was raining reptiles.  He learned somewhere that it can rain frogs and he was happy to show us that it really happened that night.

Monitor lizard at Lumpini Park.
SCARY!!!
There were a lot of little animals in cages on the street. They seemed pretty happy even though they were in a cage.
There are a lot of big critters too! This is the biggest. Meet my friend YoGi Bear!!
This is where we saw the GIGANTIC frog hop right through the restaurant when it was storming.
We ate a lot of street food.
So pretty. Street food!
Little quail eggs. They also have these at VONS in Hermosa Beach.

Bangkok has a lot of Buddhist temples, just like Chiang Mai. I really like going into the temples. They are very peaceful, especially the little ones that don’t have many people.

This was a very busy temple at Wat Pho.
Wat Pho reclining Buddha.
Isn’t it beautiful???
What do you think we were staring at?
The temple grounds were really big here. There were hundreds of Buddhas and structures.
It was so beautiful there!!
Even monks take selfies!!
This is what the moms in Bangkok drive. It’s the Thai minivan!!
If you don’t want to take a minivan, you can take a TUK-TUK! They are everywhere and are so fun!! This one was soooooo FAST!!!
Or you can take the subway in Bangkok.
You just need to buy a token and you put it in the turnstile when you exit.
Or you can take a boat!
There is a very big river in Bangkok called the Chao Phraya.
I was sad to leave Bangkok.
But the airport hotel was very fun!
And I was excited to go to Cambodia!!
Goodbye Bangkok.
ลาก่อน That says GOODBYE in Thai. It’s pronounced like this, la-gone. Or just do the “wai”.

I loved Bangkok!  Next we are going to Cambodia!  GOODBYE THAILAND, I WILL MISS YOU!!!

I can’t wait to eat some of the thai food that you learned to cook. I love meat and wonder if it would be hard to not eat any. It looks like the weather was nice and warm for swimming. What has been your favorite part of the trip so far? Where are you now? I look forward to seeing you and your family when you get back and hearing all of the fun stories!
